Specialty Tours

The Local Organising Committee has designed a number of specialty tours specifically designed to suit sociologists, they include Ecology of Durban, Music of Durban, Industrial and Sociological History of Durban Docks, South Africa’s strategies to deal with HIV/AIDS organized by Welcome Tourism Services and specialist tours coordinated by Tours of Remembrance (all bookings done through the Official Tour Operator – Welcome Tourism Services) they include: half day tour of the Political and Social History of Durban (Gandhi and ANC J. Dube), and a full day tour Political PMB/Gandhi/Mandela/Howick.

Official Tour Operator & Booking Information

An Official Tour Operator Welcome Tourism Services has been appointed to take care of all your needs with regard to Pre/Post tours together with day tours, accompanying persons and delegates alike will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of tours. All prices are in South African Rand and tour costs include all entry fees as mentioned in the tour description.

Per person costs for each tour are based on a minimum number of participants. If this number is not reached then a full refund or alternative arrangements will be made. Numbers are limited on some tours and places will be allocated strictly in order of receipt of your bookings and payment. All day and half day tours will depart from the International Convention Centre (ICC).

The Tour Operator will also have a desk situated close to the registration and information desk at the (ICC) for any queries, assistance and also to tailor package tours should you wish to explore more of South Africa.
